You have a background as a supply chain executive in the information technology industry, what can manufacturing companies learn from them in the field of digital transformation?
Digital transformation of the supply chain should not be the purpose but a tool to fulfil the customer expectations timely. Digitalization in most cases helps to design the flow, reduce the variance with the product and service as well as eliminate the secondary purpose work from the supply chain.
What are the biggest opportunities for manufacturing companies in the space of digital solutions? What they can achieve?
One developing area is the use of visual data (camera / augmented reality based solutions) to monitor and document the progress of the work. It unlocks new opportunities in the supply chains that are crossing many factories / sites before the final customer delivery.
What kind of obstacles you see companies are facing in their digital transformation journey?
Typical change management challenges are highly relevant, but also the capability to see beyond the obvious obstacles, remember the customer and partner both inside and outside the company on a right way to secure the success.
